Problems with install

Apr 6, 2009 at 8:17 AM

I downloaded Catharsis 1.0, and i have several problems:

- installer redirection to GuidanceAutomationExtensions is wrong, i must install another version (february 2008, no oktober 2007)

- after instalation i have a problem with VS templates :

Solution - comment some section in devenv.exe.config:

 <dependentAssembly>
<!--<assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft.VisualStudio.TemplateWizardInterface" publicKeyToken="b03f5f7f11d50a3a" culture="neutral" />-->
<bindingRedirect oldVersion="0.0.0.0-8.9.9.9" newVersion="9.0.0.0" />

-ProjectWeb - web project buildEvents used path not support for example : C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Sample

solution using "" for paths

- if default language is different (sk) like supported there is errors in translator menu

Hi Somoant
It is strange. I have met many problems with guidance (Creation, installation, re-installl, registry dust ...)
But the one you are describing is new for me. I have no idea what to do.

This weekend I installed new version of WinXP. There was only:
SP3 + new patches. VS 2008 SP1, .NET SP1
The Guidance automation toolkit October 2007

And everything works great - even without need to install ASP.NET MVC 1.0. Guidance provides everything
for me.

My suggestion. Uninstall what ever belongs to guidance. Toolkit, Extension and Catharsis Guidance.

Then try to find VS 2008 command line and type:
devenv.exe /ResetSkipPkgs

This will clean up any dust remaining anywhere

Than install only Tollkit (no Extensions)
and Catharsis Guidance

It should work
Let me know ... I can help you only from my experience with similiar bugs :(
Have a nice day
Enjoy Catharsis Guidance
